Urban Archery Program

ARE YOU A HUNTER?

NORTH CAROLINA URBAN ARCHERY DEER HUNTING PROGRAM

The North Carolina (NC) Urban Archery Deer Hunting Program is regulated by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC). The program involves a special 4-week period in late winter in which hunting is allowed inside participating municipalities’ corporate limits. The purpose of the program is to reduce urban deer populations, which often pose a threat to public safety. More information can be found at the following websites:

The program is traditionally renewed each year. The Town of Ronda has been approved for the year 2023 which will run from January 14 through February 19, 2023. If you have questions that are not covered here, please click here or call the Town Hall at (336) 835-2061.

Regulations

All Hunting Regulations apply. Hunters must follow regular deer season regulations, such as licensing, tagging, reporting, permission from landowners, and all other safety regulations.

Notice

The Town does not maintain any lands for hunting. Hunters are legally required to obtain written permission to hunt on posted property.

The Urban Archery Season does not obligate private landowners to allow hunting on their property, nor does it eliminate the ethical requirement for obtaining permission from the landowner before hunting. Hunters are legally required to obtain written permission to hunt on posted property.

All Urban Archery hunting within the town is conducted on a landowner permission or land ownership basis.
